REGIONAL EMPLOYMENT REPORT

ADP Regional Employment Report: Northeast Exceeds 12-month Average Growth Rate for Second Straight Month

All Regions Above 12-month Average of Jobs Added

Highlights

Note: Employment by state is determined by the state location of the worker’s payroll. In most cases, this approach aligns with the Bureau of Labor Statistics' measure of establishment employment, reflecting the state where an employee works. In some cases, a payroll located in a certain state may include employees from one or more states outside that state.

“Among the largest states, California, Florida and Texas continue to add jobs at a pace well above the other large states,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, VP and head of the ADP Research Institute®. This is consistent with the fact that the regions they are in, West and South, have outperformed the Northeast and Midwest in employment growth during the recovery.”
